Lee Corso Shoots His Wad On Gameday

October 24, 2009

leecorsoThis really doesn’t have anything to do with the Big Ten, but on ESPN’s College Gameday this morning Lee Corso said something he probably shouldn’t have said.  When Corso, Kirk Herbstreit and Chris Fowler were joined by former BYU head coach Lavell Edwards to give their picks for Saturday’s games, Corso had a theory about Arkansas’ chances against Ole Miss.

He didn’t think they had a chance to win because they “shot their wad” last week.

Granted, saying “shot their wad” can be taken in a number of different contexts, but given Herbstreit’s reaction (the 13-year old reaction), I think we know what the most common one is.

Throw in Bob Griese making a a remark about Juan Pablo Montoya “eating a taco” during the Ohio State-Minnesota game — a comment Griese apologized for — and it was quite a day at ESPN.  Expect a full report on all the racism and wad shooting at ESPN tomorrow on Deadspin.
